PARKSIDE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE

Washington, DC

In an effort to make both a visual and social statement about the rebirth of Northeast Washington, the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation (AWC) invited top design and engineering firms in the nation for the conceptual design of both a new bridge and improvement of existing bridge.  The design, done in collaboration with Arup, aims to upgrade the pedestrian connection across Kenilworth Avenue and adjacent rail lines in the vicinity of the Parkside development and Minnesota Avenue metro station.  The design has been selected by AWC as one of the finalists.
